The mutton stew with vegetables cooked according to this recipe is distinct thanks to its smooth taste, sapid gravy, and bright vegetable flavour. In order to get soft mutton it is necessary to stew it for a long time. Don’t hurry and in that case delicious and savoury mutton is guaranteed.
- 1 kg (2,2 lb) mutton
- 50 g (0,11 lb) flour
- 100 g (0,22 lb) bulb onion
- 200 g (0,44 lb) carrot
- 1 kg (2,2 lb) potato
- 500 g (1,1 lb) meat broth
- 100 g (0,22 lb) sunflower oil
- salt – to taste
- ground black pepper – to taste
- caraway – to taste
- dairy butter (for frying)
Cut mutton into medium pieces. Salt and roll them in flour. Fry the meat on dairy butter a little.
Peel bulb onions, carrots and potatoes. Chop the vegetables. Combine the ingredients and brown them separately.
Toss all the ingredients together and place them in pots. Add salt, pepper and caraway. Pour everything with meat broth. Stew the dish in an oven till done.
