Seafood and Vegetable Salad

Get inspired with this bright and healthy salad. It tastily combines boiled calamari and prawns with smoked mackerel as well as fresh and crispy vegetables. All the ingredients are dressed with lemon juice. Who could resist such a temptation?

  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 fresh cucumber
  • 500 g (1,1 lb) prawns
  • 300 g (10,5 oz) calamari
  • 1 smoked mackerel fillet
  • 1/2 bunch of lettuce leaves
  • black peppercorns – to taste
  • lemon juice – to taste
  • cloves – to taste
  • salt – to taste


Pour water in a pan. Add black peppercorns, cloves, lemon juice, bay leaves, and salt. Bring the mixture to boil and add prawns. Boil them for 15 minutes and cool. Peel and slice the prawns.

Then boil calamari and cut them. Slice a mackerel fillet thinly. Wash a cucumber and pepper. Chop the vegetables. Rinse and tear lettuce leaves. Toss all the ingredients together. Dress the salad with lemon juice and let it marinate for 5 minutes before serving.
