Herring in sour cream marinade

Try to cook the salted herring in creamy sauce. The marinade gives the herring a piquant sour sweet taste. It is recommended to serve this tender appetizer with brown bread and new potatoes.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise (18%)
  • 1 glass of sour cream
  • 1 bulb onion
  • 1 apple
  • 3 pickled cucumbers
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice/ vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • salt – to taste
  • ground black pepper – to taste
  • parsley – to taste

Cooking

Scale fish and then crosscut it. Sprinkle the herring with lemon juice or vinegar. Peel a bulb onion and cut it into semi-circles. Pour the onion with water for 10-15 minutes. Peel an apple and grate it. Cut pickled cucumbers finely.

Combine sour cream and mayonnaise. Next add the prepared apple, onion, and cucumbers. Season the ingredients with sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix them carefully. Then place the mass in a bowl and add the herring. Stir everything again.

Place the dish in a fridge for a night. Top the appetizer with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
