Dumpling soup “Poltavchanka”


  • 250 g of potato
  • 50 g of bulb onion
  • 13 g of sunflower oil
  • 125 g of flour
  • 1 egg
  • 80 ml of water
  • black ground pepper – to taste
  • salt – to taste
  • dill – to taste
  • bay leaf – to taste


Peel potatoes, cube them and boil in salted water. Peel a bulb onion and cut it finely. Brown the onion in sunflower oil.

Combine an egg, flour and water. Stir everything and knead dough. Roll out the dough and cut out the circles.

Put the prepared onion in a center of each circle. Fold the dough over to cover the mixture and crimp the edges.

Place the dumplings in the pan with the boiled potato. Add bay leaf, pepper and salt. Stir the ingredients and boil for 10-15 minutes.

Ladle the prepared soup into bowls and top it with chopped dill before serving.
